Statement of Faith

The Scriptures Inspired

The Holy Bible is the inspired and perfect Word of God. It is a revelation from God to all humanity, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26 Hebrews 4:12).

Creation

We believe that God created the world from nothing (Gen. 1:1-2; Ps. 24:1) and governs all things, at all times, in all places. God’s creative work is the overflow of the love present within the Trinitarian fellowship. Creation, according to the design of God, was good (Gen. 1:3-31). God doesn’t let the world exist; He makes the world exist. He upholds the universe by the word of His power, and He alone holds the world together (Col. 1:17).

Trinity

We believe in one God eternally existing as one spirit and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully, equally and eternally God, yet there is one God. Each person has precisely the same nature and attributes and is worthy of precisely the same worship, honor and praise. The entire Christian faith is bound together with the confession of God’s Trinitarian nature (Matt. 28:18-20).

The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11; Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19).

Jesus Christ and the Virgin Birth

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in power and glory. Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father, through the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity) in the virgin Mary's womb; therefore, He is the Son of God (John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-7; 1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 1:18, 25; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:27-35).

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables mankind to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts mankind of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls mankind to the Savior, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration, He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service (Genesis 1:2; Judges 14:6; Job 26:13; Psalms 51:11; 139:7; Isaiah 61:1-3; Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:16; 4:1; John 4:24; 14:16-17,26; 15:26; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4,38; 1 Corinthians 2:10, 12-13).

Man’s Fall and Redemption

Mankind was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Mankind, by voluntary transgression(sin), fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 3:17; Romans 5:12-21).

Salvation

The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all mankind, through the preaching of repentance toward God, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and confession with your mouth; mankind is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and being justified by grace, has become heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; Romans 10:9-10, 13; Luke 24:47; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Sanctification Process

By the power of the Holy Spirit, we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:2,15-16;1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24; 1 John 2:6; 1 Corinthians 1:30).

Evidence of Salvation

The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. The outward evidence to all mankind is a life of holiness and love for one another. (Romans 8:16; 1 Thessalonians 4:7, 2 Timothy1:9; 1 John 4:21).

The Promise of the Father

All believers should expect and seek the Promise of the Father, which is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. With it comes the infilling of power for life and service, and the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). This experience may be distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the New Birth (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9). Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth (Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; John 14:26; Acts 2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6).

Jesus’ Blood

The Blood that Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary was sinless and is 100% sufficient to cleanse humanity of all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death (1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5, 5:9; Colossians 1:20; Romans 3:21-26, 5:9; John 1:29).

Jesus Christ Indwells All Believers

Believers are people who have invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live inside them by His Holy Spirit. They relinquish the authority of their lives over to Him thus making Jesus the Lord of their life as well as Savior. They put their trust in what Jesus accomplished for them when He died, was buried, and rose again from the dead (John 1:12; John 14:17, 23; John 15:4; Romans 8:11; Galatians 2:20; Revelation 3:20).

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and edify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible’s lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12:4-8; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10).

The Church

The church is the holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (Acts 2:47; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Revelation 3:5)

Ministry

Divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a three- fold purpose: (1) Glorification of the Father, (2) The evangelization of the world, and (3) The edification of the Body of Christ (Mark 16:15, 20; Romans 15:4-5; 2 Corinthians 9:12-13; Ephesians 4:11-13).

Water Baptism

The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. By this they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38, 8:12, 10:47,48; Romans 6:4).

The Lord’s Supper

A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25).

Marriage

Marriage is the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God's unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of humanity. (Genesis 2:22, 24; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; Matthew 19:5-6; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 7:1-3).

Divine Healing

Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers. (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:16, 17; Mark 16:18; John 5:14; Psalm 103:2-3; Acts 8:6-7; 1 Corinthians 12:9; 1 Peter 2:24).

God’s Provision

It is the Father's will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall, many may not receive the full benefits of God’s will while on Earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision to better serve others.

• Spiritual (John 3:3-11; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10)

• Mental and Emotional (2 Timothy 1:7, 2:11; Philippians 4:7-8; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3).

• Physical (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24).

• Financial (Joshua 1:8; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14; Psalm 34:10, 84:11; Philippians 4:19).

Resurrection

Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation (John 2:19-22, 20:26-28, 21:4; Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:42, 44; Philippians 1:21-23, 3:21).

Heaven

Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ free from sin. (Matthew 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4).

Hell

After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels eternally separated from God. (Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8).

Second Coming & Rapture

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures. The rapture—which is the transformation and catching up of all Christians, dead or alive, to meet Christ in the air—will be secret, for it will be unknown to the world of unbelievers at the time of its happening. (Daniel 12:1-2; Matthew 24:30-31, 26:63-64; John 14:3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:51-53; Philippians 3:20-21; Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7).

The Millennial Reign of Jesus

The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the salvation of national Israel, and the millennial (1,000 years) reign of Christ on the earth are Scriptural promises and our hope (2 Thessalonians 1:7; Revelation 19:1l16; Romans 11:25; Revelation 20:1-7).

The Lake of Fire

The devil (Lucifer) and his angels, the beast (anti-christ) and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15).

The New Heavens and New Earth

We, as promised in the Scriptures, look for a new heavens and a new earth wherein righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21: l).
